General Turkish History deals with the history of eastern and northern Turks along with the history of Turkish societies from other regions. General Turkish History examines the period between Pre-Islamic Period to the modern times. This field deals with the states founded in Central Asia such as Huns, Gokturks and Uyghurs together with the Turkish societies in the nothern regions of Black Sea such as European Huns, Bulgarians, Patzinaks, Oghuzs, Hazars and Kipczaks from pre-Islamic period to the thirteenth century. It also concentrates on Kharzemshahs, Mongol Empire, Chagatai Khanate, Golden Horde and their successors, Timurids and Turkistan Khanates between the thirteenth and nineteenth centuries. Lastly, it covers the period from the nineteenth century to the modern era. It especially focuses on modern Turkic world. Apart from Uzbek, Kazak, Turkmen, Kirghiz, Karakalpak and Uyghur Turks, it deals with Tatars, Bashkir, Crimean Tatars and Caucasian Turks.
