About Program

Samsun University Master of Arts in History program was established in 2019, and it recruited first students in 2019-2020 Fall semester. The program aims to have its students acquire the skills of conducting advance research to evaluate and interpret historical data. Our program’s competent faculty provides our students with efficient supervision and fruitful classes to cultivate reliable and proficient experts.

Our program provides students with required theoretical ideas and methodological tools to utilize comparative and interdisciplinary approaches in their studies. Students must take Scientific Research Techniques, Ethics, and Seminar classes, and they need to take classes of their sub-departments- Ancient History, Medieval History, Early Modern History, Modern History, History of Republican Era, and General Turkish History.- After completing their classes, students began their thesis research. Students are expected to follow scientific activities and literature during their course and thesis research period. In this way, our program aims to train open-minded students, who can contribute to the discipline of history and social sciences with their graduate studies.
